"Literacy for All" - March 27

Free conference on youth literature
Featuring bestselling author Julianna Baggott (aka N.E. Bode), nonfiction author and illustrator Susan Stockdale, literacy specialist Ellen Stanley Ellis, and digital storyteller Craig Frischkorn, “Literacy for All: A Conference on Youth Literature” will be presented for free in the Milburn Stone Theatre on the NE campus from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., Mar. 27. The conference will highlight how literature, especially when well chosen, can encourage critical and imaginative thinking, and a lifelong habit of reading and writing.

Anyone with an interest in literacy, literature, and art for young people, including educators, parents, librarians and students, will benefit from the event. Pre-registration is recommended to guarantee seating. Same day registration will be available; however, pre-registration is required by March 19 to purchase a boxed lunch, which is available for $7.50. For more information, contact Susan Bernadzikowksi at 410-287-6060, ext. 316 or sbernadzikowksi@cecil.edu.
