Description
Semester Offered: Spring Only
Sculpture I introduces students to the basic materials and techniques used in creating sculptural forms. Emphasis is on the development of form recognition and comprehension in the third dimension. Basic shapes encountered in daily activities are used as the building blocks in the development and construction of more complex sculptural forms. Starting with projects using both additive and subtractive methods, the basic human structure will be explored. Projects using both realistic and free-form concepts will be considered. 3 credits
