Description

Introduction to UNIX/Linux is designed to introduce the fundamentals of the UNIX Operating System using Linux to the PC user. The course will present the installation, configuration, operation, and customization of the operating system for general use. Connecting UNIX with Linux to a LAN and WAN will also be required. Students will demonstrate their ability by successfully completing lab activities on workstations and servers. In addition, the student will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how to recommend, determine needs, purchase, install, and setup for use, the UNIX operating system, which is available for free on the Internet. 3 credits
