As part of our yearly "Go Green" initiative, Cecil College will close on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10:00 pm and reopen Monday, July 11, 2022 at 8:00 am. Have a safe and happy holiday, everyone!

If you are a returning student, you can visit the Registration tab to register for your courses.

Cecil College will close on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 5 pm and reopen on Tuesday, May 31 at 8 am in observation of Memorial Day.

This is a free service for Marylanders 13 years and older sponsored by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Assistance is offered for anyone wanting to quit any kind of tobacco use including cigarettes, cigars or smokeless. Support is available online or by phone. Participants may also be eligible to receive the nicotine patch or gum.

Delaware Quit Line
The Delaware Division of Public Health offers the Delaware Quitline, a powerful tool to help Delaware residents, 18 years and older, who are ready to kick the habit. Services include motivational support by phone or in person, a quit-smoking guidebook, and vouchers for nicotine patches or gum.

This website provides numerous resources including assistance with quitting, links to Smokefree Apps and Smokefree TXT, types of support options, information on smoking issues and how to find health professionals or social support.

American Lung Association
The Freedom From Smoking ® group clinic includes eight sessions and features a step-by-step plan for quitting smoking. Each session is designed to help smokers gain control over their behavior. The clinic format encourages participants to work on the process and problems of quitting both individually and as part of a group. There is an online version offered as well.

Mesothelioma

Both asbestos and smoking, separately, can cause lung cancer, but together the effect is worse. Someone who smokes and is exposed to asbestos is at an increased risk of developing lung cancer compared to someone who experiences one or the other, but not both.
